Rio de Janeiro, Aug 18 (IANS) Former Brazil playmaker Ronaldinho said he will put his friendship with Clarence Seedorf aside when the former AC Milan teammates meet in Brazil's Serie A football championship Sunday.
Ronaldinho's Atletico Mineiro will be hoping to extend its lead at the top of the standings while Botafogo, the club Seedorf joined last month after ending his 10-year spell at the San Siro, is closing in on the top four, reports Xinhua.
The pair struck up a strong friendship while playing together with the Rossoneri between 2008 and 2010.
"I'm very happy to see him here because he was one of the people who helped me most when I arrived in Italy," Ronaldinho said.
"It's great to see an old friend but in the same way that he wants to win, so do I. I'm looking forward to playing against him."
Both players enter the match in good form. Ronaldinho has been instrumental in Atletico's emergence as one of the title favourites while Seedorf scored his second goal in less than two weeks in Botafogo's 2-0 victory over Sport Wednesday.
