Rio de Janeiro, Aug 17 (IANS) Britain has offered to help Brazil prepare for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
In a letter issued Thursday, the British consulate in Rio said it was ready to share its experiences from the London Games and help Brazil leave a lasting legacy, reports Xinhua.
"We know that we can use our knowledge and experience to help Brazil as the World Cup and Rio Games draw nearer," said Britain's consul general in Rio Paula Walsh.
"We can learn from one another about how to transform sport into a habit that lasts a lifetime."
Earlier in the week, British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said that after this year's Olympics Britain "has the skills and expertise to support Brazil as the baton is passed to Rio 2016".
