Islamabad, Aug 16 (ANI): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has warned the Army against launching any operation against militants in North Waziristan, saying it might prove counter-productive and result in a further increase of terrorism.
Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali, cautioned the military not to push Pakistan into war, saying the country had been suffering due to the U.S.-led war, and that a new operation in North Waziristan would deteriorate the situation.
"Launching a new offensive in Tribal Areas will surely ignite a fresh wave of unrest, extremism and terrorism," the Daily Times quoted Nisar, as saying.
Nisar said that people would not support a military operation in North Waziristan in the backdrop of "government's unwise decision of resuming NATO supplies". (ANI)
