Washington, August 16 (ANI): US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been accused by rock band 'Silversun Pickups' of playing their 2009 hit "Panic Switch" on his campaign, without their permission.
The band has fired off a cease and desist letter to Romney, to stop using their song.
"We don't like people going behind our backs, using our music without asking, and we don't like the Romney campaign," TMZ.com quoted the band's frontman Brian Aubert as saying in a statement.
"We're nice, approachable people. We won't bite. Unless you're Mitt Romney!" the statement read.
According to the cease and desist letter, the band said that this had also happened in 2008, when Senator John McCain was sued by Jackson Browne for using 'Running on Empty' without permission.
The band said that Republicans had promised to "respect and uphold the rights of artists, and to obtain permissions" after that debacle.
Aubert also said that Romney was a victim of irony because "he is inadvertently playing a song that describes his whole campaign." (ANI)
