California, Wed, 15 Aug 2012 ANI

California, Aug 15 (ANI): Computers and personal items worth over 60,000 dollars were stolen from the home of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, it has emerged.

Kariem McFarlin, 35, was arrested on August 2 and charged with residential burglary and selling stolen property from Jobs' home in California.

He remains jailed, with bail set at 500,000 dollars pending an August 20 court hearing.

According to News.com.au, police believes that McFarlin was unaware that he had broken into the Jobs home.

"I'd imagine the suspect eventually realised whose house he was in, but outside, it was just another house in Palo Alto," the report quoted supervising Santa Clara County deputy district attorney Scott Tsui, as saying.

According to the report, prosecutors said McFarlin faces almost eight years in prison if he is convicted. (ANI)
