New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS) The University of West Indies (UWI) has started a new course on global cultures to enable its students explore India, an IGNOU official said Wednesday.

'Understanding Global Cultures' will allow students to visit India every year, explore and experience its heritage, culture and modern development, write a report and get themselves evaluated, said a statement.

"The students will visit the country at their own expense," an IGNOU statement said.

"The visit of the delegation was a result of the Trinidad and Tobago prime minister's visit to India in January this year.
