Islamabad, Aug.8 (ANI): Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said relations between Pakistan and the United States is based on mutual respect and trust, and would strengthen in the days ahead.
Bilawal said this at a meeting with U.S. lawmakers, which was also attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Secretary General PPP Jehangir Badr, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Malik Ammad Khan and former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood.
The Dawn quoted Kaira, as saying that both sides had an in-depth discussion and review of Pak-U.S. relations, and stressed on the need for having increased people-to-people interaction at all levels to help remove misunderstandings, and make the relationship more robust and productive.
Both sides noted that increased parliamentary exchanges would go a long way in creating a deeper understanding of each other's positions and help build unanimity of views on critical matters of concern to both countries, he said. (ANI)
