Pak Govt. cancels 2000 'doubtful' passports, orders probe

Peshawar, Aug. 6 (ANI): The Pakistan Interior Ministry has cancelled around 2,000 passports of people hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and tribal areas after declaring them 'doubtful' and ordered an inquiry into the matter.

According to sources, 700 of the cancelled passports were issued from different districts of KP, and 1,300 passports were issue from other tribal areas, reports The Nation.

The passports would be issued again to their holders if cleared in the probe.

The persons, whose passports have been cancelled, are facing charges such as involvement in terrorist activities and ties with extremists. (ANI)
