London, Aug 4 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Britain here Saturday retained their Olympic title in the men's four rowing, beating Australia and the United States to gold at the London Olympics.
The British crew of Alex Gregory, Peter Reed, Tom James and Andrew Triggs-Hodge won in a time of six minutes 3.97 seconds, with Reed, James and Triggs-Hodge all winning gold for the second Olympics in succession.
Britain took the lead early on and clung on for the rest of the race despite a strong challenge from Australia, who finished 1.22 seconds behind, while bronze went to the United States.
