Kabul, July 27 (ANI): NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan has condemned the cross-border shelling from Pakistan, after Kabul warned that it could significantly harm relations between the strife-torn neighbours.
Condemning the indirect fire attacks from across the Durand Line, a statement issued by ISAF said it would continue to work with both countries to end such attacks. ISAF also welcomed the announcement by the Afghan Foreign Ministry that talks on the issue would be held soon between officials from both counties in Afghanistan's city of Jalalabad, reports the Daily Times.
Last month, a barrage of cross-border fire from Pakistan into Afghanistan forced thousands of villagers to flee their homes, however Islamabad accused Kabul of protecting militants who infiltrated to kill 13 Pakistani soldiers.
Afghan officials said that more than 300 heavy artillery shells and rockets were fired for two days from Pakistan into Afghanistan's Kunar province that killed at least four people.(ANI)
