Rio de Janeiro, July 25 (IANS) Former Manchester City and Brazil midfielder Elano attributed Gremio's Serie A resurgence to the team's lesser known players.
The Porto Alegre club has recorded three wins from as many matches since Elano's move from Santos earlier this month, reports Xinhua.
His arrival has coincided with that of former Brazil teammate Ze Roberto from Qatari side Al-Gharafa.
"It's not just me who deserves the credit but the entire team," Elano said Tuesday.
"Everybody deserves praise. If Ze Roberto and myself are able to play well it's because the other players are also having an impact."
Roberto, whose European career included spells at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, said he and Elano had changed the team's style of play.
"Our arrival has helped the entire team," Roberto said. "Our style is to always attack and we have been able to help with our good service to the strikers."
Gremio, coached by former Real Madrid boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo, is currently fourth in Brazil's Serie A standings with 21 points from 11 matches.
The former club of two-time FIFA world player of the year Ronaldinho has not won the Brazilian Serie A title since 1996.
