Lahore, July 10 (ANI): A Pakistani barrister, belonging to the Watan Party has moved an application before the Supreme Court, challenging the restoration of NATO supplies for NATO troops in Afghanistan.
Zafarullah Khan, in his petition stated that the restoration of the NATO supply routes on July 4, which marks the Independence Day of the United States, was against the sovereignty and prestige of Pakistan, and in violation of the parliamentary resolutions, reports the Daily Times.
He stated that the reopening of the NATO supply routes would spread a new wave of terrorism in the country. He added that the apology offered by the U.S. for the deadly NATO attack along the Afghan border last November, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers meant nothing. Khan also said that the lethal weapons transported via these routes to Afghanistan could be used against Pakistan. (ANI)
