Kabul, July 9 (ANI): A shocking video of an apparent public execution of a young woman accused of adultery in Afghanistan has sparked off global outrage.

Provincial spokeswoman Roshna Khalid said that the 22-year-old woman, named as Najiba, was married to a member of a hardline Taliban militant group and was accused of adultery with a Taliban commander, Parwan.

According to Sky News, British Foreign Secretary William Hague urged Afghan authorities to bring those responsible to justice.

"I am shocked and disgusted by reports that an Afghan woman has been publicly executed by the Taliban," he said.

He also said the incident highlighted a need for better protection of women and girls in Afghanistan, a call echoed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Afghanistan Human Rights Commission also expressed outrage, with executive director Mohammad Musa Mahmodi saying. 'they condemn any killings done without proper trial. It is un-Islamic and against any human rights values'. (ANI)
