Islamabad, June 28 (ANI): Russia has agreed to provide financial and technical assistance for the multi-billion dollar Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project to help Pakistan overcome its worsening energy crisis.
According to sources, a Russian PJSC (Public Joint-Stock Company) has shown its willingness to finance and construct the pipeline during the second meeting of the Pak-Russia joint working group on energy, reports The Nation.
It was also bilaterally agreed in the meeting that Pakistan would send a copy of the draft of the agreement to Russia within fifteen days, which would be signed after a thorough review.
Russia maintained its previous demand of exemption from Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules, sources said.
Russia has also shown interest in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, sources added. (ANI)
