Karachi, June 25 (ANI): Despite the prevailing tension between the United States and Pakistan, Karachi witnessed a musical convergence between U.S. brass band The Stooges and Asif Sinan, a local vocalist, indicating that music diplomacy still prevails between both countries.
"Pakistani music instigates beautiful feelings within me, reminding of my home," the Daily Times quoted The Stooges band member Larry Brown, as saying.
Brown said Pakistani musical instruments have a similarity with the contemporary musical instruments. He said the band attempts to spread peace around the world through music.
The Stooges received an overwhelming response by the Pakistani audience, states the paper.
The band, formed in 1996, is today considered one of the best brass bands of New Orleans' iconic second line traditions.
U.S. Information Officer in Karachi, Amanda Caldwell said the band was called to Pakistan on the demand of the Pakistani people.
"Irrespective of the age, caste, creed or colour, music is enjoyed across the world and plays a significant role in promoting peace," said Caldwell. (ANI)
