Shanghai, June 19 (IANS) A Chinese couple has been detained in Paris for killing and dismembering another couple and dumping their headless torsos in a forest in the outskirts of the French capital.
The pair surrendered to police following the discovery by a guide dog of the torso of a woman in the Vincennes forest over the weekend, Shanghai Daily reported Tuesday.
They said they killed a man and a woman, both Chinese, and based on the information, the man's torso was found. The couple killed and dismembered the other pair following a dispute over the dead couple's child, who they said died earlier this month while in the care of the accused.
The couple told police the child died accidentally, but they concealed the death by putting the body in a bin bag. They then fled to China but returned to France because they were "overcome with remorse".
