London, June 19 (ANI): Human traffickers in Pakistan are stealing credentials of British Pakistanis without their knowledge, and are using it to make fake visa applications for cash.
The traffickers have bought and intercepted information of several hundred victims of Pakistani origin who send sponsorship to their parents and relatives, reports the Daily Times.
The British High Commission to Pakistan has made various complaints to the Ministry of Interior of growing instances of false documentation, stamps and instruments in order to facilitate illegal migration as well as human trafficking by organised criminals, but no action has been taken so far.
According to the paper, some highly influential politicians and officials of law enforcement agencies are involved in this illegal business.
British Pakistanis have urged President Asif Ali Zardari to take serious action against the criminals.
UK Association of Pakistani Lawyers chairman Barrister Amjad Malik said, "If no action is taken on emergency basis, any story in media may hit hard and our beloved country may be maligned due to the unbridled work of some individuals and/or groups involved in organised crime."
An investigation carried out by the paper had also revealed that the British High Commission detected hundreds of fake documents in one month, showing the severity and speed with which human smuggling mafias are operating. (ANI)
