Moscow, June 13 (Xinhua-ANI): Russia didn't send military equipment to foreign countries in violation of UN sanctions, Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Wednesday.
As the sole state intermediary of defense product exportation, Rosoboronexport "does not supply foreign countries with weapons and military equipment in breach of the UN Security Council requirements and other international agreements," Interfax news agency quoted a Rosoboronexport official, as saying.
The official made no comments on the statement by U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton which said Russia was sending combat helicopters to Syria.
In her speech in Washington on Tuesday, Clinton accused Russia of providing Syria with military helicopters, saying such shipments would intensify the conflict "quite dramatically."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday Russia would not ship anything to Syria outside the just-finished air defense contracts with Syria and was not providing the Syrian government with any weapons against "peaceful demonstrators." (Xinhua-ANI)
