Pak CJ's son accused of swindling Rs 340 m by real estate tycoon

Islamabad, June 13 (ANI): A statement submitted in the Pakistan Supreme Court by real estate tycoon Malik Riaz states that Rs 342,501,254 was spent on the Chief Justice's son Dr Arsalan Iftikhar's three foreign tours.

According to The News, Arsalan had reportedly assured Riaz that he would settle the cases fought in his father's court in favour of Bahria Town, in return for the trips that however, did not happen.

The documents presented in the court showed that Arsalan's first visit in 2010 cost a total of Rs 8, 860,579, which included ticket fares, a tour to Monte Carlo, car and flat rental fees and shopping. The second tour that took place in 2011 cost Rs 692,949, and one in 2010 cost Rs 5,947,726. All the visits were made to London.

The statement said that Rs 327,000,000 was also paid in cash to Arsalan on various accounts.

In his affidavit, Riaz reiterated that he was being "blackmailed" by Arsalan and was forced into going public. He declined any involvement of any political party or the Army in the entire case.

Riaz also challenged the suo moto notice taken by the chief justice, and also blamed Arsalan of blackmailing his son-in-law and extorting money from him. (ANI)
