Islamabad, June 13 (ANI): Negotiating teams of the U.S. and Pakistan have concluded their work and the decision of reopening NATO supply routes now lies with the political leaderships of the two countries, sources in the Foreign Affairs Ministry have said.
"They have provided input and now the leadership would consider over the inputs," the Daily Times quoted the sources, as saying.
The U.S. negotiating team who left Pakistan on Monday night would return when Pakistan would be ready to complete the dialogue over NATO supplies, the U.S. embassy said.
The U.S. Embassy acting spokesman Robert Raines said the talks at the technical level have ended and the teams on both sides have submitted their inputs about restoring the NATO supply routes.
According to reports, the Pakistani officials had conveyed to the U.S. that the issue of charges over the NATO supplies was not as important as the country's sovereignty and dignity.
NATO supplies have been suspended for more than six months after a deadly NATO air strike along the Afghan border, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers, causing deterioration in Pak-U.S. ties. (ANI)
