Islamabad, June 10 (IANS) Pakistan is working "vigorously" on reports of people going missing in the country, and at least 44 such people have been traced in the last three months, an official said.

Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, president of the Commission on Enforced Disappearances, and a former judge of the Supreme Court, said 15 missing people from different areas of Balochistan have reached home in the last one week.

Iqbal said of the total 445 people reported missing, 170 belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 117 to Punjab, 74 to Sindh, 42 to Balochistan, 18 to Islamabad and 12 each to FATA and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

He said the commission has "credible" information that 11 to 15 people from Balochistan, who were reported missing, were now in Afghanistan's Paktia and Policharkhi jails under the control of the US Army, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
