Tunis, June 9 (Xinhua-ANI): Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali said on Friday evening that the extradition of Libya's former Prime Minister Baghdadi Mahmoudi was irrevocable, Radio Mosaique FM reported Saturday.
Jebali's remarks came after an international rights group asked the Tunisian government to suspend the extradition pending the UN refugee agency's decision over Mahmoudi's obtestation for political asylum, the report said.
The Tunisian presidency will soon release a report issued by an independent commission, which had visited Libya to examine the possibility of a fair trial in Mahmoudi's home country.
The former Libyan prime minister has said through his lawyers that the extradition means immediate death penalty for him. (Xinhua-ANI)
