U.S. drone strike in South Waziristan kills three

Peshawar , Sat, 02 Jun 2012 ANI

Peshawar, June 2 (ANI): A fresh U.S. drone attack in Pakistan's South Waziristan on Saturday morning has reportedly killed three people.

According to The Dawn, the three people were killed after the drone fired two missiles at a house in the mountainous tribal region.

Drone strikes have become an increasingly contentious issue between the U.S. and Pakistan.

Pakistan's parliament had recently demanded the U.S. end all drone strikes on its territory, saying the attacks are counter-productive, violate the country's sovereignty, kill civilians and fuel anti-U.S. sentiment.

The U.S., however, has shown no intention of stopping the attacks, as it considers the attacks as a weapon to sweep off militants infesting the mountainous region. (ANI)
