NATO supply routes through Balochistan not acceptable: Baloch leader

Islamabad , Sat, 02 Jun 2012 ANI

Islamabad, June 2 (ANI): A Baloch separatist and the grandson of slain leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, has said NATO supply routes through Balochistan were not acceptable, however, if the Pakistan government wants to do so, the Baloch should be taken into confidence.

Head of Baloch Republican Party (BRP), Brahamdagh Bugti, who is currently in exile in Switzerland, said he is against any sort of external intervention in the Balochistan issue, be it from Pakistan, the U.S. or from any other country.

He said the "independence of Balochistan cause" lacks international support. Talking about the recent conference on Balochistan, Brahamdagh said there is no point in holding such conferences and dialogues, as there is no consensus among Baloch leaders over resolution of Balochistan problems. He said the Baloch people would decide on TAPI gas pipeline project.

Brahamdagh added that the Pashtuns would not be part of "independent Balochistan" as the territory would consist of the Baloch majority area. He also accused the Pakistan Army and ISI for using power and money to divide Baloch leaders struggling for their "independence". (ANI)
