Girls' school blown up in Pakistan

Islamabad, June 1 (IANS) A primary school for girls in a Pakistani village has been blown up by unidentified terrorists, Daily Times reported Friday.

The attack took place late Wednesday on the outskirts of Mardan city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which borders Afghanistan in the north-west, the daily said.

According to the police, the unidentified attackers planted two bombs in the Community Girls Primary School of Jalander village while holding the security guard as hostages.

The blasts completely destroyed the school building, police added.
