Japan's industrial output grows

Tokyo, May 31 (IANS) Japan's industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent in April from March for the second consecutive month of growth, the government said Thursday.

The index of output at factories and mines stood at 95.8 against the base of 100 for 2005, according to a preliminary report released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The index of industrial shipments rose 0.9 percent to 96.7 and that of inventories was up 2.0 percent to 109.6, reported Xinhua.
