Iran to supply power to Syria, Lebanon

Tehran, May 27 (IANS) Iran will supply electricity to Syria and Lebanon, an Iranian official said Sunday.

"We are planning to export power to Syria and Lebanon," Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Behzad said.

Iran currently supplies electricity to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Turkey, Xinhua reported.

The minister also said that the country will earn over $1 billion from power exports this year. He said the government will build 26 new power plants in the country.
