Sindh, May 27 (ANI): Pakistan's Federal Minister for Water and Power, Naveed Qamar, has said talks are underway for the import of electricity from India, adding that headway was expected on the project soon.
Qamar, who was at the Tando Muhammad Khan Grid Station, said a Pakistani delegation is scheduled to leave for Iran on May 28, to finalise a 1000 MW electricity project.
The News quoted Qamar, as saying that the upgradation of the power transformer of Tando Muhammad Khan Grid Station from 15/30 MVA to 20/26 MVA had been completed at a cost of Rs 60 million.
He cited that the replacement of gas with oil fuel was responsible for the increase in electricity tariff hike. (ANI)
