Now, U.S. DEA agents in dock for hiring prostitutes in Colombia during Obama visit

Washington, Tue, 22 May 2012 ANI

Washington, May 22 (ANI): At least three U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents are under investigation for allegedly hiring prostitutes in Cartagena, Colombia.

The incident occurred at the same time when U.S. Secret Service agents were involved in a similar case in Colombia before President Barack Obama's visit.

The revelations were made by a Secret Service agent during his investigation, Fox News reports.

"The Drug Enforcement Administration was provided information from the Secret Service unrelated to the Cartagena hotel Secret Service incident, which DEA immediately followed up on, making DEA employees available to be interviewed by the Department of Justice's Office of Inspector General," DEA spokesman Rusty Payne said.

However, the DEA investigation is separate from the ongoing Secret Service probe and the DEA agents have been removed from the country, sources have said.

In April, 12 Secret Service agents lost their jobs following allegations that some brought prostitutes to their Cartagena hotel rooms. (ANI)
