London, May 15 (ANI): Mike Tindall has played down suggestions that his wife Zara Phillips will represent Great Britain in the Olympic eventing team at the London 2012 Games.
Phillips has been left "burnt" by her former encounters with the contest and is not confident of qualifying, the rugby star said.
"I think she has been burnt by the last two Olympics. So I don't think she is putting all her eggs in one basket," the Telegraph quoted him as saying
The talented equestrian faced heartache at the past two Olympic Games when she had to pull out of both the Beijing and Sydney games after her horse Toytown sustained injuries.
However, Tindall insisted that she would be pulling out all the stops at the try-outs.
"She is just going to go out there and do her best to impress the selectors," he said.
After an impressive year eventing, Phillips had planned to win over Olympic officials at the Chatsworth Horse Trials this month but the event was cancelled due to the course being waterlogged.
Will Connell, the British performance director, has said that a new event for qualifying will be announced in due course.
It is reported that there is only one place left on the five-strong team with William Fox-Pitt, Mary King, Piggy French and Nicola Wilson all already expected to qualify. (ANI)
