'In denial' Gilani sugarcoats NATO Chicago summit snub reports

London, Sat, 12 May 2012 ANI

London, May 12 (ANI): Rubbishing reports that Pakistan has not been invited to the Chicago summit, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani stressed that negotiations regarding the reopening of NATO supply routes are still under way, and that it was premature to say anything in this regard till the negotiations are over.

"Our negotiations are on. When they end, then we can say something. We are in the middle of discussions," The Express Tribune quoted Gilani, as saying.

Regarding the increasing U.S. insistence that Ayman-al-Zawahiri is present in Pakistan, he said relations between the CIA and ISI have always been "excellent" and still are - stressing that the two had hit many Al-Qaeda high value targets together because of this cooperation.

He said the U.S. and Pakistan are still in "partnership mode" and are looking out for each others' interests.

He urged the U.S. to share "credible" and "actionable" intelligence, if any, so that the ISI and CIA can "jointly achieve the target". (ANI)
