Osama plotted to kill Obama, but not Biden who would plunge US into chaos

Washington, Fri, 04 May 2012 ANI

Washington, May 4 (ANI): Slain Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin laden was plotting to kill US President Barack Obama and military chief General David Petraeus, letters found at Osama's hideout have revealed.

The letters released by US military chiefs revealed that Osama had ordered Al-Qaeda to watch airbases for a chance to shoot down Air Force One to blast Obama to push America into crisis.

He had also ordered to blast any plane carrying Petraeus in Afghanistan, The Sun reports.

US military academy West Point released a total of 17 captured documents, including letters written by Bin Laden and his lieutenants.

But he ordered 'NOT' to kill inexperienced Vice President Joe Biden, wanting him to take over because he believed that would spark a crisis in the US.

The plot is revealed in 175 pages of letters found in bin Laden's Pakistan hideout where US Navy Seals had killed him a year ago.

Osama's assassination letter says: "I asked brother Ilyas to prepare two groups - one in Pakistan and the other in the Bagram area of Afghanistan - with the mission of anticipating and spotting the visits of Obama or Petraeus to target the aircraft of either one of them.

"They are not to target visits by US Vice President Biden. The groups will remain on the lookout for Obama or Petraeus".

In another letter, Bin Laden referred to attack on a British envoy Tim Torlot and issued guidelines to suicide bombers, however, Torlot was unharmed in the attack.

Documents also suggest that Al-Qaeda was in decline after years of Allied attacks and its leader isolated and were battling to control it.

However, the documents also revealed that Laden's hatred for America was so great that he even urged his group to shun British and other Allied targets if a US targets appeared at the same time. (ANI)
