Spears' fiance becomes her co-conservator

New York, April 26 (IANS) Britney Spears' fiance Jason Trawick has finally become the co-conservator of her multimillion-dollar fortune.

Trawick was approved as a co-conservator for the pop star by a Los Angeles judge Wednesday. Conservators typically have legal authority over a person's general well-being, which includes decisions about food, clothing and medical care.

However, Britney's father Jamie holds legal control over his daughter's finances, reports people.com.

"Jamie's thrilled. It's all in the family," his attorney Geraldine Wyle told reporters following the hearing.

Wyle also clarified that the request to add Trawick came at Britney's request, not Jamie's.

The conservatorship will be lifted only after a judge is convinced, on the advice of the singer's doctors, that she's healthy enough to manage her own affairs.
