Lahore, Apr 23 (ANI): Sajjad Mehdi, the son of legendary Pakistani ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan, has appealed for donations from the government and other institutions for his father's medical treatment. His father is in debt to the tune of Rs 5.2 million, an amount that has been spent on medical treatment.

"Every one has to die one day and I do not want my father dying with a burden of Rs 5.2 million debt on him," Sajjad said.

Hassan's condition is improving, but his treatment will continue as per the doctor's advice, Sajjad told the Daily Times. According to the doctors, Hassan's chronic ailment is a result of old age and his condition might improve with the passage of time.

Sajjad thanked the Punjab government, federal government and all private institutions for expressing their concern about his father and the help that has been offered so far. (ANI)
