Seven die as oil tanker explodes in Afghanistan

Kabul, April 6 (IANS) Seven people were killed and three injured Friday when an oil tanker exploded in southern Afghan province of Kandahar, police said.

 

"An oil tanker exploded at around 8 a.m. Friday along a main road in Khuli Manda area of Panjwai district and the blast led to a minibus passing by the area catching fire," police official Sardar Mohammad told Xinhua.

 

He said seven passengers in the minibus were killed and three were injured in the incident.

 

It was not immediately clear how the tanker exploded, Sardar added.
