Islamabad, Feb 21 (ANI): Pakistan cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has said his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party will not form any alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movemement (MQM), which encourages 'politics of the gun'.
Khan said the real issue was not to have a battle with the MQM, but to fight the status quo.
"We need to bring rule of law, end corruption and revive meritocracy and enforce tax collection. To make this happen, our fight is with those in power at the centre. Our enemy today is the two main parties," the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
Earlier, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, the Punjab Government' spokesman, had said that the match had been fixed long ago between the MQM and the PTI and the public meeting of December 25 in Karachi was also a fixed one.
He said people remembered how Khan held the MQM responsible for target killings, torture cells and extortion in Karachi, but added that the meeting between these two parties had totally exposed them.
Rasheed further said Imran's entire politics revolved around opportunism and unprincipled politics. (ANI)
