NATO, Afghan, Pakistani military officials to hold border talks
Islamabad, Feb 8 (ANI): NATO, Afghan and Pakistani military officials will hold talks on improving border security and coordination on Wednesday.
The Dawn quoted Pakistan's military as saying that Director-General of Military Operations Major-General Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmed would represent the country in the talks at a border coordination centre.
Pakistan had closed NATO supply routes to Afghanistan after a cross-border air attack, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers in November last year.
Islamabad expects to re-open supply routes, but will impose tariffs, a senior Pakistani security official said.
The United States needs Pakistan's cooperation to ensure stability in Afghanistan before NATO combat troops withdraw in 2014. (ANI)
