Maoists landmine blast kills three policemen in Jharkhand
Latehar, Feb 2 (ANI): At least three policemen were killed in a deadly landmine blast in Balumath in Jharkhand.
The explosion was followed by a fierce gun battle by Maoists, in which four police personnel were injured.
The police party was on its way to a village to investigate a suicide case when it was attacked.
Latehar Superintendent of Police, Kranti Kumar Gadidesi, said the blast destroyed the police jeep completely.
The Maoist insurgency has gripped nearly one-third of the country, spreading its violent tentacles into the interiors of 20 of India's 28 states.(ANI)
