Tucson, Jan 17(ANI): The organs of nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green, the youngest victim of last week's shootings in Arizona, have been donated to save the life of a young girl in Boston, her father has said.
John Green said that did not know who had received the organs or any other details about the donation.
"Don't know the back story about how this little girl was helped or saved or what organs were used. We got a phone call that it had occurred," boston.com quoted Green, as saying.
He further said that the donation has lifted their spirits.
"We're proud parents once again of our daughter, who has done another amazing thing," Green said.Christina was one of six people killed when 22-year-old Jared L. Loughner opened fire at a "Congress on Your Corner" event in Arizona on January 8.
She was waiting to meet Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords when she was shot in the chest.
Evidence seized from Loughner's house had revealed that he had planned to 'assassinate' Giffords.
Giffords, who represents Arizona's Eighth District in the south-eastern corner of the state, has been an outspoken critic of Arizona's tough immigration law, which is focused on identifying, prosecuting and deporting illegal immigrants.
She had also come under criticism for her vote in favour of the Democrats' health care law. (ANI)
