Sui (Dera Bugti), Jan 4 (ANI): Balochistan Governor Zulfiqar Magsi has requested Pakistan Army chief General Ashfaq Kayani to take steps for resolving the issue of missing Baloch people.
"It is a very serious and important issue of Balochistan and should be resolved without any delay," the Dawn quoted Magsi, as saying.
Speaking at the Sui Military College's inauguration ceremony, he said anti-state elements were exploiting the issue.
"Where are these missing people? It is the right of their families to know their whereabouts," said Magsi, adding that if they were in custody of any civilian agency or with the spy agencies ISI and MI, they should be handed over to police and produced before courts.
The missing people should be tried in a court of law if they are involved in any crime, he added.
Commenting on the conversion of the Sui cantonment into a military college, Magsi said it was a great moment for the Baloch people.
He also appreciated the Pakistan Army's efforts in promoting education in Balochistan, adding that such steps would help remove the sense of deprivation among the Baloch.
"Our youths could be saved from falling into the hands of anti-state and anti-social elements by giving them education," the governor observed. (ANI)
