Nevada (US), Jan 3 (ANI): Europe needed to stop treating Roma as pariahs; Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, and Rabbi Jonathan B. Freirich, prominent Jewish leader in Nevada and California in USA; stated in Nevada today.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, and Rabbi Freirich pointed out that Roma (Gypsy) had been in Europe starting around ninth century CE and now numbered around 15 million. They were European and human like other Europeans and should not be treated as second class citizens because of their beliefs, culture or color.
Rajan Zed and Jonathan Freirich argued that politicians with declining ratings needed to find some other scapegoats as Roma had long played this role. Was the concept of Borderless Europe applicable only to non-Roma Europeans?
Zed and Freirich further said that even the religious leaders of Europe, who were supposed to be God's representatives on earth, had been for the most part keeping quiet to Roma apartheid. It was a sin to watch helpless Roma maltreated day after day for centuries and not doing anything about it.
Europe needed to wake up and embrace Roma brothers/sisters, Rajan Zed and Rabbi Freirich added. (ANI)
