Melbourne, Dec 30 (ANI): A passenger has been arrested for punching a teenager in the arm who refused to turn off his iPhone during a flight from Las Vegas.
According to other passengers, the mid-air altercation happened on late Tuesday as flight attendants announced the final approach to land in Boise, Idaho.
The 15-year-old boy, who was listening to music and playing games on his iPhone at the time, completely ignored the routine instructions for passengers to switch off cell phones and electronic items, reports the Daily Telegraph.
One passenger, named as Russell Miller, was enraged by the teen's rudeness and struck him.
After the fight, the pilots radioed the air traffic control tower in Boise airport and requested police officers to meet the plane upon landing. He (Miller) punched him so hard there was a mark on the teen's arm. That gave us probable cause to believe the reports from the other passengers," said Lieutenant Kent Lipple of Boise Police.
Miller was charged with one count of misdemeanour battery and was booked into Ada County jail. (ANI)
