Veda institute launched in Slovenia

Nevada (US), Dec 28 (ANI): Institute for Vedic Culture named Gopuram has reportedly been launched in Slovenia to conserve the Vedic heritage and spread it in Slovenia and other countries.

 

Launched by sister-brother team of Emilija Kercan and Vojko Kercan in capital and largest city Ljubljana, this non-profit venture aims to raise awareness about Vedic culture and its universal message and recitation of Vedas through seminars, workshops, conferences, lectures, etc.

 

Gopuram is launching a course on "Learn and recite the Vedas". It has already organized a Veda chanting workshop in Ljubljana.

 

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, has welcomed the efforts to spread the rich heritage of Vedas, which are foundation of Hinduism and which are considered direct and eternal transmission from the Absolute. Rig-Veda is the oldest existing scripture of the mankind.

 

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged Slovenian Universities of Ljubljana, Maribor, and Primorska to launch studies of Vedas, as Vedas were a world heritage and could be utilized/shared by all seekers.

 

Slovenia; a predominantly Roman Catholic central European country of spectacular mountains, sunflower covered plains, hills awash in grapevines, incredible mixture of climates, Lake Bled, welcoming-generous Slovenes, prsut (air-dried ham), poet France Preseren, composer Jacobus Gallus, chemist Friderik-Fritz Pregl, Lipizzaner horses, etc.; is also known as "The Green Piece of Europe". Danilo Turk and Borut Pahor are President and Prime Minister respectively. (ANI)
