Bobby Jindal hit by fifth recall petition by disillusioned voter in 2 yr office term

Washington, Fri, 17 Dec 2010 ANI

Washington, Dec 17 (ANI): Bobby Jindal, the Indian origin Governor of Louisiana, was hit by another recall petition on Wednesday after an independent voter sought Jindal's removal because of cuts to higher education and health care programs.

According to Politico, Jindal has been hit by five recall petitions, including the latest one, so far in just two years in office.

The voter, Ronnie Ray Caesar, reportedly has 180 days to gather the over 908,000 signatures to prompt a recall election.

Ceasar, who ran for Congress in 1994, said Jindal is "not doing the will of the people."

"We're going to show him, 'We the people give you the ideas. You don't just run ramshod down people's throats,'" he added.

There has never been a successful recall campaign against a statewide elected official in Louisiana, and four previous attempts to throw the Republican governor out of office had failed, the report said.

The latest attempt comes as Jindal's once sky-high approval ratings have dropped to 55 percent, it added. (ANI)
