Brit grad lands dream job by setting up own website to advertise talents

London, Dec 15 (ANI): A graduate in Britain has landed his dream job after he set up his own website to advertise his talents.

Kyle Clarke, 23, a Newcastle University graduate was fed-up with wading through application forms so he decided to do set up employkyle.com, which he hoped would get him noticed.

He was left stunned by the response, as he received 15 offers of work, including one for a digital marketing manager in New York, which he has now taken.

"I knew I really needed to come up with something that totally made me stand out from the crowd and so I came up with the idea to auction myself online," the Sun quoted Clarke, from Dorset, as saying.

"I was honest and admitted that I wasn't 100 percent sure what career I would like to get into. But I hoped that by creating the website and generating interest from potential employers I could find the perfect role.

"The final decision was much harder than I thought it would be," he revealed.

On the site, Clarke had set out information about his CV, personality and ideas and quickly attracted more than 4,000 visitors from 80 countries.

And by the time he reached the end of his project, he had received job offers ranging from multi-national corporations to individual entrepreneurs.

He has taken up a job with Knowledge Labs, a development group based in London and New York.

"A friend shared the employkyle.com website with me. I was immediately taken by Kyle's proactive approach to job hunting," Nadia Tarazi, from the Knowledge Labs, said.

Tristan Alltimes, alumni relations manager of Newcastle University Business School, said they are incredibly impressed by Clarke's innovative approach to tackling the job market.

"It isn't an easy time for graduates looking for employment but it just goes to show that with the right mindset, enthusiasm and entrepreneurialism, graduates can make a big impression on the business world," he added. (ANI)
