Tokyo, Dec 6 (ANI): Public support for Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan's Cabinet declined to 25 percent, marking its lowest level since June when it was appinted, according a Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper poll.

Eighty three percent of the respondents participating in the survey said Kan's cabinet is not appropriately tackling the current economic situation, marked by deflation and a rising yen, appropriately.

The survey, conducted in early November, also said that 45 percent of respondents believed Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku should step down.

Only 32.7 percent of the respondents have reportedly supported the cabinet.

On Monday, Kan said he has no plans to reshuffle his cabinet.

Instead, Kan stressed that the government will try to strengthen its ties with other parties, including the People's New Party and the Social Democratic Party, to help clear the way for its legislative agenda. (ANI)
