Wellington, Nov 21 (ANI): Paul Henry, the controversial former TVNZ Breakfast anchor who had confirmed receiving a payout from the state broadcaster, is reportedly planning to buy a 360,000 dollars Aston Martin Rapide sports car and a boat that could cost him millions.
According to the New Zealand Herald, Henry revealed his plans to the women's magazine 'New Idea'.
Henry, who lives in a Tudor-style mansion, has reportedly road-tested an Aston Martin Rapide. He has a number of properties and business interests and says he is looking forward to having a break from the five-day a week TV routine he has had for the past 10 years.
Henry did not reveal how much he had received from TVNZ, but said: "What I asked for was entirely reasonable and what I received was entirely reasonable."
Last week, Henry had revealed that TVNZ had encouraged him to be provocative, but failed to support him when his on-air comments about Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and New Zealand Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand sparked a public backlash. The furore led to his resignation.
He had also expressed his frustration over the New Zealand Government's act of officially apologising to India after he ridiculed the name of Dikshit. (ANI)
