London, Nov 9 (ANI): A gay sperm donor is fighting to keep access rights to his two children he had by a lesbian, whom he contacted through an advert.
The mum and her partner want to overturn a ruling giving him "shared residency", London's Appeal Court heard yesterday, reports the Sun.
The dad, a professional in his 50s, was contacted by the lesbian couple after placing an ad in Gay Times in 1999.
Titled "Gay man wants to be a dad", it said he was in a happy relationship that had "everything but kids". He had "a lot to offer" and "wanted little involvement".
The mum, in her 40s, had the kids, a boy, now nine, and a girl, seven, and a court ruled they should live with the dad for 152 days a year.
But he was an "overpowering" character and had "marginalised" the mum's partner in the raising of the children, the appeal judges heard.
Alex Verdan, QC for the dad, said he had played a key role in the children's lives. (ANI)
