Wellington is the 'coolest little capital'

New Delhi, Mon, 01 Nov 2010 ANI

New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): Wellington-the Kiwi capital-has been named the 'coolest little capital in the world' by travel guide publisher Lonely Planet.

It has also ranked Wellington as the 4th top city in the world to visit in 2011.

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, who also serves as tourism minister, has welcomed the tributes.

He said that Wellington gets a hard time for its windy weather but he believes it added to the feel of the city, reports English.news.cn.

David Perks of the Positively Wellington Tourism said Wellington's label as the 'Coolest Little Capital in the World' is quite simply an incredible achievement.

He said New Zealand is often recognized for its rural landscapes, so for the capital city to be ranked as something very special in the world is a fantastic boost to Wellington and New Zealand as a whole. (ANI)
