Peshawar, Thu, 21 Oct 2010 ANI

Peshawar, Oct 21 (ANI): Four NATO transport containers that had been stolen in Pakistan while on their way to Afghanistan have been recovered, the city police said.

Khazana Police Station House Officer (SHO) Sabir Khan revealed that police recovered the containers from Nishat Flour Mill in Khazana area of the city, the Daily Times reported.

Four people, including a guard of the store, identified as Jan Mohamamd, have been detained, but the owner is still at large.

Police showed to reporters the loaded containers, which were loaded with the US Army jackets- each inscribed with individuals' names, stationery, coils of cable and laptops, cupboard, spoons, US army uniforms, generators, tents, computers, first aid items, wireless sets, fridges and other equipments.

The goods were probably stolen from Ring Road area, a stopover for NATO supply trucks, before being shifted to Nowshera, said police sources.

Earlier on September 24, security forces assisted by the Khyber Khasadar Force had raided warehouses and a private house in Jamrud, and seized huge quantity of goods allegedly stolen from NATO containers. (ANI)
